I added the Australian Garden cafe, Boonerwurrung Cafe onto urbanspoon.com, what I first noticed about the cafe was the use of the woody seeds and types of bedding as vase displays on their dining tables.
This place is MUCH different from the Royal Botanic Gardens in the city. Of course this being the emphasis on the Australian landscape, hence its' name.
The Red Sand is clearly the central feature of the Gardens; with the red oxidised soil drawing all eyes far out - as well as drawing in the cameras...
I can't wait for the completion of the stage 2 garden construction of the site. It is said to be completed in Spring this year.
From rgv.vic.gov.au:
"Contemporary design, specialist horticulture... and art programs will feature amongst a series of varied and dramatic landscape settings... the 9 hectares of stage 2 will extend the success of stage 1... with the addition of new plantings, artworks, interpretive information and educational resources."
Soooo exciting!
